We are starting to prepare for Religious Ed in September!
We will start collecting money on Sunday August 10th after 11am mass. The link for registration was already sent out to those who are signed up in the Remind app. Class will start on September 7th at 9:15am. All students receiving a sacrament in 2026 MUST turn in the requested documentation when signing up as it should have been turned in by May 2025. All those receiving a sacrament in 2026 must be in Religious Ed for 2 years. Completed forms can be returned to the office or placed in the collection basket. Thank you!

2025 Jubilee Year/Año Jubilar 2025
The Jubilee Year holds profound significance for Catholics as a time of spiritual renewal and reconciliation. Rooted in biblical tradition and celebrated approximately every 25 years, it is an invitation to experience God’s mercy through acts of charity, confession and pilgrimage. Marked by the opening of the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica on Dec. 24, 2024, and activities at other designated sites, the Jubilee Year symbolizes the opening of hearts to divine grace and a recommitment to faith and community. Take a moment to explore the Jubilee Year of Hope, to learn.
The 2025 Jubilee Year has as its central theme “Pilgrims of Hope” (taken from “Hope does not disappoint” Rom 5:5). In his papal bull Spes Nos Confundit, Pope Francis called on all people of goodwill to embrace the jubilee year as an opportunity to bring hope to the world. May this year, he wrote, be a “moment of genuine, personal encounter with the Lord Jesus, the ‘door’ (cf. Jn 10:7.9) of our salvation, whom the Church is charged to proclaim always, everywhere and to all as ‘our hope’ (1 Tim 1:1).”
Jubilee years provide a unique opportunity for spiritual growth, emphasizing God’s abundant mercy and the call to live a renewed life of faith and service. During a jubilee year, Catholics are encouraged to:
- Make pilgrimages to designated holy sites, especially in Rome
- Pass through Holy Doors, symbolizing entering God’s mercy
- Perform acts of penance and charity
- Receive special indulgences by fulfilling specific spiritual acts and prayers
El Año Jubilar tiene un profundo significado para los católicos como un tiempo de renovación espiritual y reconciliación. Arraigado en la tradición bíblica y celebrado aproximadamente cada 25 años, es una invitación a experimentar la misericordia de Dios a través de actos de caridad, confesión y peregrinación. Marcado por la apertura de la Puerta Santa en la Basílica de San Pedro el 24 de diciembre de 2024 y actividades en otros lugares designados, el Año Jubilar simboliza la apertura de los corazones a la gracia divina y un nuevo compromiso con la fe y la comunidad. Tómese un momento para explorar el Año Jubilar de la Esperanza, para aprender.
El Año Jubilar 2025 tiene como tema central “Peregrinos de la esperanza” (tomado de “La esperanza no defrauda” Rm 5,5). Hacer peregrinaciones a lugares sagrados designados, especialmente en Roma
Pasar por las Puertas Santas, lo que simboliza la entrada en la misericordia de Dios
Realizar actos de penitencia y caridad
Recibir indulgencias especiales cumpliendo actos y oraciones espirituales específicos

While in the Church, a good way to prepare for Mass is by prayerfully setting our mind to God. If we were in Heaven, our focus would be completely on the will of Our Lord. So why not practice that here, where we are in His presence. We can use the prayer that Jesus taught his Apostles and us to do this, the Our Father.
Mientras estamos en la Iglesia, una buena manera de prepararnos para la Misa es dedicar nuestro pensamiento a Dios con oración. Si estuviéramos en el Cielo, nuestro enfoque estaría completamente en la voluntad de Nuestro Señor. Entonces, ¿por qué no practicar eso aquí, donde estamos en Su presencia? Podemos usar la oración que Jesús enseñó a sus Apóstoles y a nosotros para hacer esto, el Padre Nuestro.
CMG Connect Replaces Virtus Training Program
The Diocese of Charlotte is launching a new training program for clergy, employees, and volunteers to enhance efforts to protect children and young people in all of our churches, schools, and ministries. The new program, called CMG Connect, replaces the VIRTUS Online training program effective this week. The change affects all clergy, religious, seminarians, lay employees and volunteers who work or serve in our diocese
La Diócesis de Charlotte está lanzando un nuevo programa de capacitación para clérigos, empleados y voluntarios para mejorar los esfuerzos para proteger a los niños y jóvenes en todas nuestras iglesias, escuelas y ministerios. El nuevo programa, llamado CMG Connect, reemplaza el programa de capacitación VIRTUS Online a partir de esta semana. El cambio afecta a todos los clérigos, religiosos, seminaristas, empleados laicos y voluntarios que trabajan o sirven en nuestra diócesis.
